SALGA Mpumalanga to host 2020 Provincial Members’ Assembly
The PMA will focus on key issues affecting local government on matters such as inadequate financial management, governance challenges, service delivery interventions, consequence management etc

On November 5 and 6, SALGA in Mpumalanga will be hosting its Provincial Members’ Assembly (PMA).
The two-day assembly will include topics such as:
*Adopt the provincial members’ programme of action, business plan and budget in respect of the ensuing year;
*Consider reports from the working groups and oversight bodies; and
*Deal with any other issues emanating from the provisions applicable to provincial members in this Constitution.
The SALGA Constitution (as amended) provides that “SALGA shall at least annually hold a meeting of members to be known and described in the notice calling such a meeting as the Provincial Members’ Assembly. The Members’ Assembly is charged with the responsibility of exercising SALGA’s authority between conferences which take place every five (5) years”.
Expected guests at the assembly include the premier, MEC for the Department of Co-operative Government and Traditional Affairs, speaker of the legislature, chairperson of the house of traditional leaders, executive mayors, speakers, chief whips, municipal managers and various stakeholders.
The PMA will focus on key issues affecting local government on matters such as inadequate financial management, governance challenges, service delivery interventions, consequence management etc.
The members’ assembly provides a fantastic opportunity and correct platform for delegates to achieve the following:

Presentations and panel discussions will take place during the two-day assembly consisting of prominent speakers within the sector.
