Popularly known as Ezra Mlotshwa which is also his original birth name, meet the heartthrob of house music born and bred in Witbank!

Ezra is a national house music DJ and music producer who explains music not only as a career but a passion.

Born in September 1993, Ezra completed his matric at Greendale High School and furthered his studies at the Tshwane University of Technology where he obtained his Bachelors of Technology in Logistics.

Music was an inborn thing, so he had already started playing as a local DJ and formed part of a group called The Goldenboys which consists of himself and the well-known DJ Oscar Mbo and DJ Luu.

When the group decided to put more effort into their individual careers, he started scoring gigs as a solo DJ and eventually built and nurtured the empire he now rests upon.

He went from playing in local pubs, clubs and events to playing around the country until he was featured on the Lockdown House Party which aired on ChannelO for the whole of South Africa during lockdown weekends this year.

“My Gawd! It felt like heaven. It’s a different feeling playing for a crowd of about 1 000 people, but playing for the whole country is another thing. It felt amazing” said Ezra.

His appearance on The Lockdown House Party skyrocketed his music career even better as he did not only build a name for himself but also acquired a great loyal following and fan base around it.

He has shared the decks with great names like DJ Shimza, Kabza De Small, internationally acclaimed DJ Black Coffee and United States’ Supernova to mention a few.

Ezra is yet to release his personally produced hit single Solala, a soulful house song which incorporates a kwaito and old school house feel featuring local rapper from Spruitview, Lethu AKA Suluman.

The hit single is going to be available for pre-order on November 20 and the official release date is November 27 and his fans cannot wait already.
