Dipsy had a shaky start but has a lot of love to give to a new family

Dipsy is up for adoption. She deserves a happy ever after, soft bed, and heaps of cuddles.

You get courageous, you get brave then you get Dipsy.

This mixed breed Boerboel is an overload of love. But Dipsy has a sad story that turned into one of hope.

Dipsy when she was first picked up by Witbank SPCA.

A call from some children in zone 14 was the turning point in Dipsy’s story.

“The children phoned in and told us said that there was a dog on fire that had been badly burnt,” said Ms Natalee Pretorius from the SPCA.

This was in September already.

Dipsy was not burnt; she has a terrible case of mange.

“It was so bad that we were not sure of her breed or colour. You could see in her eyes that her whole body was in immense pain and her short little life she had a rough start and let down by humanity,” Natalee said.

But there was just something about her that wanted Natalee and her team at the SPCA to give her a second chance.

“The moment she nested in my neck, just pouring love onto me, I knew she was special.”

Dr Nolan Landman and the team from Witbank Veterinary Hospital sponsored Dipsy’s treatment.

It took months and months of treatment, and slowly the itchy and painful skin started to heal and the stunning tan hair started growing back.

Dipsy allowed Natalee and her team to start touching her and interacting with her.

She might be a bit shy, but once she gets to know you she loves to give kisses, sniff out treats, and super goofy and flops over her own feet.

“We discovered she just loves belly rubs,” Natalee said.

Dipsy is up for adoption. She deserves a happy ever after, soft bed, and heaps of cuddles.
