MRM structures are ready to fight against GBV

MRM workshop had a full house as many were willing to help the community.

The Emalahleni Local Municipality Transversal Unit held a workshop for communities around eMalahleni, Kriel and Phola.

The Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM) dialogue was aimed at discussing about Gender-Based Violence incidents that happen in the communities and how it can be combated.

The dialogue was held on Wednesday, December 15 and many stakeholders such as the members of the SAPS joined to outline the importance of the matter.

The aim of the event was to elect and introduce the MRM structure that was formed in Phola.

Other MRM structures will be elected in Kriel and eMalahleni later in the year.

The members of the new structure are: Job Sibiya, Sihle Mtsweni, Sgt Thabang Ntuli, Mamsi Nkuna, Millicent Shungube and Sibongile Skhosana.

The structure will serve the community by fighting against GBV and other common crimes that happen around the community.

Other stakeholders such as pastors and community leaders attended the workshop to show support and concern for their communities.

The workshop was attended by many who were willing to work for the community and keep South Africa safe.
