Where there is a ‘wheel’, there is a way
Nothing compares to making someone smile. This was done when the Care West Foundation handed out wheelchairs recently.
Steven Luvuno of Care West Foundation and his team have set their mind on one thing only, helping people.
Not only does Care West Foundation take care of children, but it also stretches its hand to families and the disabled people in the community with success and continues to do that.
Recently Steven and his team presented a new wheelchair to Given Makofane (32). Given was using an old wheelchair that needed fixing and the foundation came to his rescue.
Makofane and his elder sister stay with his granny at Vosman, but the family is struggling. He suffers from diabetics, and his leg was amputated when he was about 20 years old. He had used crutches for four years until they broke.
He was then given an old wheelchair but struggled with it until the foundation came to his rescue by giving him a new wheelchair.
The foundation has set goals for the year; to present as many wheelchairs as possible.

Rirhandzu Nomdemi Mkhatshwa (13) was one of the recipients.
She was born with a disability, and the foundation applied for a wheelchair in 2016.
Finally, after years of prayers, Rirhandzu received her wheelchair.
The presentation was held at the municipality offices on Tuesday, January 25. Her mother, Ms Ruth Cossa was overjoyed after the presentation and thanked the foundation for their good work.

Care West Foundation is busy looking for a new wheelchair for Tshiamo Tshepang Masiya (5) of Vlaklaagte. The young boy was born with lower limb problems and cannot walk or move around without assistance.
They have already set the ball rolling and are looking for a wheelchair for him. They believe they can do it with the assistance of companies, individuals, and some government departments.
Steven thanked all the people and companies who have supported the foundation.
Care West Foundation appeals to the community to help with donations to acquire and hand out as many as possible wheelchairs.
