Celebrating our police women’s role in SAPS

This day was to recognise the services rendered by the men and women in blue

The Mpumalanga Provincial Commissioner urged police to continue working hard to end crime at National Police Day – celebrating women in policing.

On January 28, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela addressed the big crowd of police officials at the Mthimunye Stadium in Ackerville while they celebrated women in this profession.

“Crimes such as ATM bombing, gender-based violence, rape, and murder are on the rise in the province, therefore police are working around the clock so the guilty suspects can be brought to book soon. That is why I urge you to keep up the good work,” said Lieutenant General Manamela.

This day was celebrated around various countries in the world to recognize the services rendered by them and to give recognition.

Further on the special day was filled with fun activities where the officials were partaking in activities, such as aerobics, netball, chess and ‘tuck of war’, for the mere fact to just relax and have fun.

The event was attended by police from Ehlanzeni -, Gert Sibande -, and the Nkangala district.
