Mayor pays a visit to local clinics

Cllr Conny Nkalitshana visited health care facilities in eMalahleni

The Executive Mayor of eMalahleni Local Municipality  visited health care facilities in eMalahleni in her effort to speed up service delivery.

To familiarise herself with the local health facilities she set aside two days to meet and greet health officials in the different facilities

Among the healthcare facilities she visited on Tuesday, 5 and Wednesday, April are Impungwe District Level 1 Hospital, Witbank Hospital, Cosmos Hospital and ePH Hospital, followed by primary health care facilities: Extension 3 Klarinet CHC, Lynnville Clinic, Ackerville Clinic, Siphosensimbi CHC, Hlalanikahle Clinic, Empumelelweni Clinic, Sinqobile Clinic, Phola, Kriel, Beatty and Klipfontein Clinics.

She pointed out that she needed to extend her hand to meet the different stakeholders offering services to the community of eMalahleni.

She added to say they need to join hands and face challenges together.

“I have also come to say thank you for the work that you are doing. You have been doing a sterling job for many years, even over the Covid-19 period when there were many challenges and you were there to offer services.”

During her visit to the Vosman clinics (Sinqobile, Siphosensimbi and Hlalanikahle) she arrived to inspect the clinics.

Cllr Nkalitshana stated:

“I have seen the clinics with female-majority staff, and safety must be prioritised. I’m happy to see that some of the clinics are clean and are well-maintained”.

The mayor then commented on her overall visit to health care facilities:

“There was only one health care facility that had one positive Covid-19 case. There was no other, which is a great improvement because eMalahleni was once an epic centre in Mpumalanga,” she concluded.
