Executive Mayor of Emalahleni Local Municipality rushed to hospital during her State Of the Municipality Address
She was not feeling well.
The Executive Mayor of Emalahleni Local Municipality, Cllr Connie Nkalitshana, was rushed to hospital during her maiden State Of the Municipality Address (SOMA).
On Thursday evening, June 30, while the mayor was delivering her address, she suddenly asked the MMC of Finance, Ms Faith Msibi to finish her speech as she was not feeling well to continue.
She was escorted off the podium and taken to the hospital.
“We assured the guests in attendance that the executive mayor will be fine. It is still unclear at the moment what the executive mayor suffered from during the SOMA,” said the council speaker, who was also the programme director at the event, Cllr Mduduzi Nkosi.
A few weeks prior, the mayor tested positive for Covid-19 and spent several days in the hospital.
