Mpumalanga Arts Initiative auditions this weekend at Witbank Arts Campus

Performing arts is taken to a next level with the Mpumalanga Arts Initiative.

Mpumalanga Arts Initiative (MAI) will be conducting its first audition session locally this weekend.

The auditions are being held at Witbank Arts Campus on the premises of Witbank High School on September 3 at 10:00.

Registration starts at 09:00, and it is compulsory.

People are expected to submit backing audio and their music score to the judges. They must state their full names, the title of the song they are going to audition with, the composer and the work it came from, “Nan piu andrai” from the marriage of Figaro by W.A Mozart.

Confirmation and submission of entries will be closed by Friday, September 2.

No form will be issued at the venue of the auditions and MAI offers to help download music scores and backing audios on request.

The idea was put together by Doctor Choma, Godfrey Zunguza, Timothy Zulu and Jerry Ngwenya.

The company consists of 15 active committee members and currently looking for 120 performing artists across the Mpumalanga Province partaking in diverse art forms like music, drama, dance and poetry among other art forms.

Interested members are also requested to download the audition form available on request from the above-mentioned contacts and then bring already filled out forms to the audition.
