Two learners killed on N4 this morning

The cause of this morning’s crash is not yet known.

Two learners were killed early this morning in a crash involving three vehicles on the N4 toll road between Vosman and eMalahleni.

“Several learners sustained injuries ranging from mild to moderate. This happened when two mini-bus taxis and an articulated truck collided,” said Mr Moeti Mmusi from the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety Security and Liaison.

Mmusi said it is alleged that one of the mini-busses may have stopped or slowed down on the road while the truck was allegedly already too close.

“The truck subsequently hit the mini-bus on the rear, and it then collided with the rear of the minibus that was in front. All vehicles were travelling in the same direction.”

The injured passengers have been transported to nearby health facilities for further medical attention.

The cause of crash is not yet known, but the investigation is already underway.
