Witbank Police Station attacked by angry mob

Witbank Police Station is now an active crime scene, therefore it is closed to the public.

Witbank Police Station is currently cordoned off. The police station was attacked earlier by a group of men who arrived in taxis.

Stones were thrown at the police station and violence boiled over.

The police retaliated with rubber bullets and tear gas.

All the suspects were arrested on the scene.

“The attack is not related to the national shutdown today,” said police spokesperson Captain Eddie Hall.
