According to the local municipality, the power outages have been caused due to severe damage to bulk cables and need to be replaced.

Currently, the technical team is on-site attending to the issue.

Technical teams tried to join the cables yesterday but the extent of the damage was too much and new cables had to be ordered.

The repair work is currently underway at the substation and stolen cables are being replaced at the same time.

According to the municipality, the repair work is expected to be done later this evening and power supply will be restored to the affected areas.
