Correctional centre sports day was all about well-being of officials
'Let us revive the positive energy of this place, let us do away with negativity and perpetual anger'
Witbank Correctional Centre officials had a fun and sports day to improve their well-being.
The event was held on Wednesday, March, 29.
“Let us revive the positive energy of this place, let us do away with negativity and perpetual anger,” those were the opening remarks of the Witbank Area Commissioner, Reverend Mandla Sibanyoni during the management area sports day held at Witbank Correctional Centre.
Officials heeded the call to check on their well-being as different stakeholders flocked in to play their role in service delivery like the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation, Department of Health and other role players made the day extra special as they catered for the needs of the officials.

Medical specialists ranging from a podiatrist, physiotherapist, audiologist and speech therapist, oral hygienist, prosthetics and orthotics as well as clinical nurses who provided general screening for basic health were also in attendance.

Rev Sibanyoni encouraged officials to capitalise on the day as it improves productivity and team spirit in the workplace.
Officials enjoyed the fun and competed in the different games at hand.
Middelburg Centre of Excellence spiritual worker Mr Zwelethu Nkosi also commented on the event saying, “We are happy about the wellness day. We really needed such an exercise and we hope another one is in the pipeline.”
The stakeholders were also excited that officials were making use of their services.
Ms Azania Masemola who is an optometrist confirmed her gratitude for being invited to the event and said she would be delighted to form part of any future events that the management area will host.
