Woman threatens robbers with police to no avail

Luckily the robbers did not manage to get away with any valuables.

A 63-year-old resident has been the victim of a house robbery.

The resident and her helper were busy at her home when she heard a noise coming from the roof.

At first, the victim thought it was the geyser packing up but immediately after heard a loud bang at her front door.

Upon peering through the window, the victim allegedly saw two unknown men at the door.

It is believed that one of the suspects was busy trying to open the door and the other held a black bag.

According to a police report, the victim then proceeded to threaten the suspects by telling them that she was phoning the police, but it did not deter the assailants.

It is believed that the suspect carrying the bag took out a firearm and pointed it at her while the other continued opening her door.

She alleges that she and her helper ran to the garage and locked themselves inside.

The victim, once in the garage, phoned her husband and told him of the situation.

Upon her husbands’ arrival, the victim, and her helper, exited the garage.

The victim and her husband noticed that the robbers tried to tamper with the mounted safe, but did not succeed.

The front door was badly damaged, but nothing has been reported stolen, and the safe was intact.

All relevant stakeholders were on the scene.

Apart from nothing being stolen, nobody was injured during the robbery.
