Kriel Police prioritise young girls during a campaign
Kriel Police Constable Angel Makubu mentioned that the learners were educated about the consequences of criminal activities and Gender-Based Violence.
Kriel Police Communications Unit in partnership with Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) and Community in Blue conducted a Take a Girl Child to Work campaign that was graced by Station Commander Lieutenant Colonel Phinah Seloane.
The purpose of the campaign was to educate the learners about the variety of careers available in the SAPS.
On Thursday, May 25 the orientation process was held in each office around the station and the learners got to see the function of every component at the station. Sbongamandla Secondary School and Hoërskool Kriel formed a part of the campaign hosted by the police.
Kriel Police Constable Angel Makubu mentioned that the learners were given a chance to ask questions about each component.
“They were also informed about the consequences of criminal activities and Gender-Based Violence (GBV),” Constable Makubu concluded.
