Vandalised isolation valve at Costas main cause of the water crisis in KwaGuqa
It is still unclear if all extensions have access to water.

KwaGuqa Extensions can finally breathe a sigh of relief following the prolonged water outages that left the community without water for six weeks.
Ward one councillor Ntsweleng Tlapi confirmed that the residents now have running water in their taps on Monday, June 3, “Yes today we have water in all extensions,” clr confirmed.
A vandalised isolation valve at Costas was identified as the most recent cause of water problems that continue to plague Emalahleni Local Municipality.
On Thursday, June 29 residents told WITBANK NEWS that they have had to endure the challenges of continuous water outages for weeks on end, and as a result, community members are forced to source water from unsupervised storm water drains or buy water at cheaper cost from vendors.

On Sunday, July 2 Emalahleni Local Municipality issued a statement on social media based on the water crisis, “the repair works on the bulk supply line at point E reservoir were completed last night and three of the 3.5 Mega litres water tanks are full,” the statement read.

On Wednesday, July 5, residents from KwaGuqa Extension 11 confessed that they still do not have access to running water, “nevertheless this is our color black, you must learn to say thanks even in dark times.We still don’t have water, but as long as some of us have water, I guess that is enough,” extension 11 resident cried.
