Boyfriend drags woman before firing shots next to her

The woman was unfortunately part of a growing concern about domestic abuse at the hands of her partner.

Two attempted murder cases have been opened at Witbank Police Station.

In both instances, weapons were used to intimidate and threaten the life of another person.

On Wednesday, June 28 in the evening hours, police were on patrol when they received a complaint in Leeuwpoort.

Police responded to the scene and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched to the plot, where a man was found lying on his bed after being stabbed in the stomach.

It is still unclear what the circumstances were that led to the man being stabbed.

The victim was rushed to hospital and is currently recovering from his injuries.

Another case of attempted murder was opened by a female victim in Klarinet.

The woman was unfortunately part of a growing concern about domestic abuse at the hands of her partner.

According to the complaint, the abuser called her late in the evening hours, asking her to step outside her front door as he wanted to see her.

He then demanded to know where she was during the day, and she replied by saying that she was in Masakhane.

The man then proceeded to drag the victim to the ground, threatening to kill her.

The man then proceeded to take out his firearm and shoot one shot next to the woman.

It is unclear whether the abuser meant to miss his target on purpose.

He then proceeded to run off, firing many rounds as he fled the scene.

Investigations are still ongoing.

Luckily the woman did not sustain any serious injuries.
