Ewan shines on international field

Bankenveld learner recently made his mark on international field.

Wishing all the best to Ewan van der Walt, learner from Curro Bankenveld as he embarkes on his new journey. This aspiring golf as from Monday, July 10 to 11 is

competing in Canada’s Biggest Junior Golf tournament, Canadian Junior Championships.

Ewan is proudly representing South Africa. He was chosen to play in the Big 5 South African Open early April.

Ewan’s mother Anika van der Walt expressed that her son showed a love for golf from the age of 3.

When Ewan turned five, he began golf lessons with Coach Juan van Greunen.

“He taught him all he knows and he is still teaching him amazing skills. Ewan started playing in the South African U.S kid’s golf at the age of five-years old. He grew from strength to strength through all the competition he played here in South Africa,” his mother said.

Ewan was chosen to play in the Big 5 South African Open on the April 3 and 5.

After this competition, his mother said that Ewan’s priority status changed as he was invited to multiple countries to represent South Africa.

“We chose to send him to the Canadian Junior Championships as we have family living there, which makes the trip a lot more exciting. May the tournament be filled with joy, new friendships, and incredible memories,” Mrs Van der Walt emphasized.
