Switch off non-essential appliances as electrical loads are abnormally high
The power supply at the Doornpoort 2 Substation is under pressure.
Residents that are supplied electricity by the Doornpoort 2 Substation are experiencing irregular power outages and some areas are facing water shortages.
This is due to overloading at the substation.
The municipality urges residents to please switch off non-essential appliances to help reduce the strain on the power supply grid to prevent load reduction from being implemented.
The reduction will also affect the water supply.
