Choir festival shows the joy of music at New Life Church

The event had no competing aspects but was rather a celebration.

It has been a stunning musical evening at New Life Church.
The event was held on a beautiful Spring day on Saturday, September 2.

Every choir was dressed to impress in their formal choir attire, and some wore traditional garments to dazzle the crowd of onlookers.
The church hosted a choir festival and attendees were not disappointed and left in awe with the harmonies and musicality that the choirs brought to the stage.

Robin Jooste, Mariska van Biljon, Gugu Mahlangu, Zethembe Shongwe, Ayanda Rapulane, Sphesihle Makhoba, Dineo Nkoana, Thandolayanda Mthembu and Franco Gibbens.

The event had no competing aspects but was rather a celebration.
Mpumalanga Youth Choir was one of the main attractions, singing their renditions of ‘I speak Jesus’, ‘Elangeli’ and ‘Ubi Caritas’.

Choirs came from neighbouring towns to show their singing talents.
Hoërskool Ermelo sang their renditions of the national anthem, Nkosi Sikelela, and also had two pop numbers by Jessie J, ‘Pricetag’ and ‘Flashlight’.

Mpakamo Shongwe and Tshegofatso Mmutlane.

They also did a beautiful rendition of ‘Pinde Kulume’ meaning ‘Speak again Lord’.
Closer to home, Curro Bankenveld School did not hold back their singing spirit when they sang their renditions of ‘Njalo’, ‘Patta-Patta’ and ‘Thula Baba’.
