United Masters narrowly beat Vithiza

Even though the games are social they do offer good entertainment on a Sunday afternoon.

In one of the matches organised by Witbank KwaGuqa Masters League, United Masters FC played against Vithiza FC.

The Sunday social games are played on different grounds around KwaGuqa and this week’s game was played at Phatudi Ground in Empumelelweni on Sunday, October 1.

The game started with both teams showing good display and United had a shot at goal but it went wide. United was awarded a place-kick and the shot was saved for a corner-kick.

United had the upper hand in the first few minutes of the first half and had several attempts at goal but the shot either went wide or was saved.

United’s middle fielder scored their first goal when the keeper was beaten helpless and after that United pressed for a second goal but Vithiza’s goalkeeper came to the party to save.

The teams were allowed to have a water break after 15 minutes after the start of the game.

Play continues with United leading and both teams searching for goals and Vithiza were rewarded for their efforts when they scored the equaliser to make it 1-1.

The teams break for half-time after displaying good football.

In the second half, the fans were also treated to a good display of talents by the masters.

While United were pressing for more goals, they nearly scored after a good build-up.

Vithiza caught United on a break attack and they nearly scored.

United made two substitutes while Vithiza had a place-kick which the United keeper saved for a corner-kick.

A United forward made a cross towards the goalmouth which was scored by a teammate to make 2-1 the final score.

The supporters loved every minute of the very interesting game.
