Ndlunkulu lighting up Phola with hope and change

Ndlunkulu Thulisile Mahlangu, a true community leader, stands as a beacon of inspiration in Phola, Ogies, and beyond, with her unwavering dedication leaving a lasting mark in the hearts of many.

Her impact journey has been characterised by her relentless advocacy for crucial social issues, including gender equality, educational opportunities for underprivileged children, and sustainable development.

She firmly believes in empowering the youth, stating, “Change begins with empowering our youth.”

Ndlunkulu’s program, ‘IsiGungu Sezintombi’, unites over 300 young girls for discussions on vital social issues, equipping them for a brighter future.

When Women’s Day approaches, she takes the lead in organising celebrations that focus on women’s issues, emphasising the strength of women in the community and providing them with the tools they need to succeed.

She passionately states, “Women empowerment is at the core of our progress. We must uplift and support one another.”

 

Ndlunkulu’s remarkable ability to bring together people from diverse backgrounds for a common goal is her defining trait, and she stresses, “Unity is our greatest strength; our community’s diversity enriches us.”

Her collaborations with local organizations in the fight against Gender-Based Violence and drug abuse are making the community safer and more nurturing.

She urges, “We can’t ignore these issues. We must stand up against violence and protect our children from the dangers of drug abuse.”

Moreover, she partners with companies to promote education through bursaries and skills development programs, ensuring that young minds have opportunities to thrive.

She believes, “Education is the foundation of a brighter future; our children deserve the chance to access quality education.”

 

She also adds, “By investing in education, we invest in the future of our community.”
