Sinkhole appears in CBD

It is advised that motorist use alternative routes.

A sinkhole has spontaneously appeared in the downtown Central Business District. The road has been closed off to motorists as the damage and cause of the sinkhole still has to be determined. The intersection of Walter Sisulu and the N4 Eastbound off-ramp have been closed off for motorists . Road users are advised to use alternative routes. “The roads and storm water infrastructure are mainly affected and this result in compromised road safety towards mobility and accessibility,” read a statement issued by the Emalahleni Local Municipality. The statement also said that the repair work will be expedited.
