Law enforcement takes swift and coordinated action, resulting in the arrest of the most-wanted suspect allegedly engaged in multiple car hijackings, business robberies, and armed robberies.

Law enforcement successfully apprehended five suspects allegedly involved in a spree of car hijackings and armed robberies in eMalahleni over the weekend.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala provincial police spokesperson said, “Middleburg Flying Squad members received information from a reliable source that the most wanted suspect allegedly involved in numerous car hijackings, business, and armed robberies was spotted at Lynnville.”

Firearms recovered during the operation against the alleged hijacking syndicate in eMalahleni.

Middleburg Flying Squad and guards from private security companies arrested the most-wanted suspects in Lynnville on Saturday, December 9.
Following investigations at two locations in Lynnville and Coronation, two firearms were recovered.

The three suspects, aged 30 to 34, are now facing accusations relating to car hijackings and unlicensed firearms.
Continuing the operation on Sunday, December 10, the Middleburg Flying Squad, working hand-in-hand with Witbank Crime Prevention and detectives, arrested another 32-year-old suspect in Klarinet.

According to reports, the suspect was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm reported to have been stolen in Piet Retief two months ago.
Further investigations resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect in possession of Dodge car keys, tying them to a reported hijacking in eMalahleni earlier this month.

All five suspects appeared before Witbank Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, December 12, facing charges stemming from their alleged involvement in the criminal syndicate.
