eMalahleni kidnapped businessman still missing without a trace

Kamlesh Singh’s family is asking for anyone with camera footage of a suspicious looking grey Ford Kuga Police to step forward with information.

Local businessman, Kamlesh Singh, remains missing, with no trace since the kidnapping incident at Corridor Hill.

Singh reportedly fell victim to a kidnapping on Wednesday, January 10.

According to Provincial Police Spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, Singh received a call on Tuesday, January 9, about an alleged electrical fault at his business.

“The call that Singh received was from an unknown person who identified himself as a technician from Emalahleni Municipality assigned to check an electrical fault at his business,” said Mdhluli.

Singh responded to the so-called ‘appointment’ by arriving at the business site the following morning.

Around 08:20, three suspects in a grey Ford Kuga with cloned registration numbers approached Singh.

Two armed men, their faces concealed with balaclavas, forced Singh into the vehicle, which then headed towards Ga-Nala, leaving his car behind.

“It has now been discovered that along the way, the suspects reportedly dropped the victim’s cellphone, and it has been recovered,” Mdhluli added.

Police are actively seeking information and urge the public to contact Detective Sergeant Master Patel at 072 025 1395 or use the Crime Stop number 086000 10111.

Confidential information can also be submitted via MYSAPSAPP, with callers having the option to remain anonymous.
