According to the Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, Lungile Khumalo’s (36) life was cut short following an altercation with his 26-year-old partner who allegedly stabbed him to death inside his home.

On Saturday, February 17 at around 23:30 Khumalo was rushed to the hospital by a family member.

On Monday, February 19 the suspect appeared before the Witbank Magistrate’s Court,  she asked not be granted bail and the matter was then postponed to Tuesday, May 14.

Khumalo was described as a dedicated member of the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League by aggrieved community and political party members who were present at the court.
