Water is returning says municipality

That gurgling sound in your taps may be the water coming back.

Long hours were put in to fix the leaking pipe at Point B Reservoir and repairs were completed at midnight.

“Pumping started thereafter to the reservoir,” said municipal spokesperson Mr Lebo Mofokeng.

Pumping to Point C Reservoir has apparently resumed, and water supply to areas fed by Point C Reservoir will be restored gradually pending the level in the afternoon.

“Point B high level has also started and water to the central business district and surroundings should be restored shortly.

Point E areas water supply is gradually gravitating to the reservoir.

“Pending the amount of water, the high level will be pumped into the water supply to the areas at high level; the water supply will be restored. Point B-C areas water supply should be restored this afternoon,” Mofokeng said.

According to Mofokeng the water supply situation should start stabilising by this evening and tomorrow, pending increased pumping from the source which is currently being optimised to its full capacity in order to recharge the system.
