The Black Belt Family Centre shines at the National Martial Arts Alliance Tournament

The Black Belt Family Centre – G-Shim Taekwondo Club kicked, sparred, and used traditional weapons to achieve glory at the National Martial Arts Alliance Tournament held in Pretoria last month.
On Saturday, February 24, Sahbumnim Russell Cowley and students Angel Mohlala, Michael Bhila, and Clive Dorrington shone at the event bringing home numerous medals in various martial art disciplines.
Russell secured second place for sword sparring, and third place for form, weapon form, sparring, and combat sparring.
Angel, for as petite in stature as she is, fought off all her competitors to take first place in sparring and combat sparring, and placed second for form.
Clive took first place for sparring and second place for combat sparring and form.

“The competition hosted by National Martial Arts Alliance was a well-controlled event with good sportsmanship among the students. We’re looking forward to the Witbank Global Traditional Martial Arts competition happening on April 20,” commented Russell.
