Shooting at Tavern in eMalahleni

A case of attempted murder has been opened.

A tavern, situated in Old Coronation, has seen its fair share of crime over the past few years, with the latest being attempted murder.
On Saturday, March 2, a man and his friends were enjoying a fun-filled evening at the tavern, when shots allegedly rang out among the patrons. When he turned around to look at what was happening, an unknown male allegedly pointed a firearm at him.
The victim got up to run and managed to escape from the tavern before his leg cramped up and he collapsed.

He told police he did not realise at the time that he had been shot.

A foreigner from Congo assisted the victim by arranging transport for him to the hospital.
The victim had been shot in the buttocks.

A case of attempted murder has been opened.
