A man from Phola, who fled the instant he saw a police patrol van headed in his direction, has been arrested.

According to the police, the officers on duty patrolled the area on Saturday, March 23 at around 10:30 when a man wearing black jeans and a white and orange striped t-shirt spotted the van and started running in the opposite direction.

It is alleged that when the police caught the suspect and searched him, five sachets of a substance suspected to be drugs, wrapped in green plastic were recovered.

Phola Police spokesperson Sergeant Thabang Petros Ntuli, said the suspect was arrested for the possession of drugs and taken to Phola Police Station.
