Three killed, one injured in light aircraft crash just outside eMalahleni

One patient was taken to Witbank Hospital.

Three people died in a light aircraft crash this afternoon. This tragedy happened just after take-off at 15:40 on April 21.

The aircraft crashed at a local mine.

Legacy Emergency Medical Services, SAPS, and Emalahleni Fire Department were dispatched to the crash site.

Gavin Cooper from Legacy said they transported one patient to Witbank Hospital.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families,” Cooper said.

The Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa is investigating the crash.
