Executives refining their customer service abilities

Leaders refine their customer service abilities at a local restaurant in eMalahleni

The Nkangala Business Chamber and marketing expert Monica Joao were instrumental in refining the leader’s customer service abilities.

On Tuesday, April 16, leaders from several companies convened at Mama Lisa Restaurant for a workshop to gain insights into customer service and engagement strategies.

Monica, a marketing expert, conducted the leaders in this training, covering a variety of themes mostly aimed at improving their future client handling methods.

“I have been in marketing for 25 years, and it is an honour to be able to advise our executives on customer service techniques,” said Monica.

Wilma Chatterton and Corrie Visage.

Part of Monica’s presentation included understanding both external and internal customers, habits that company leaders have to adhere to, which include being proactive, beginning with an end in mind, putting things fast, thinking win-win, seeking first to understand and then be understood, and lastly synergising.

During the discussion, Monica also talked about how important it is to push yourself whilst working with clients, how important it is to listen to hear rather than listen to reply, and how important it is for leaders to build networks.

One of the active members in these sessions held by the business chamber who is also part of the leaders shared a few words and said, “Consistency is key, you have to be consistent for it to succeed, and treat your customers the way you would want to be treated.”

Gideon Joubert, Neo Thage, and Chris Muller.

The marketing expert also gave the leaders access to a video in which she discussed how to assess the mission and organise your week, each week, before it begins.

Monica concluded by giving executives advice on how to always make sure their integrity and values match, how to always treat customers with honesty and respect, and how to always incorporate high-quality work.
