Family traumatised after house robbery

A family is trying to come to terms with the reality of crime after a recent house robbery.

A family is still reeling in shock after a traumatic house robbery which left them shaken and vulnerable.

The event occurred on Tuesday, June 18, at about 02:00, when two men armed with firearms allegedly gained entry into the home.

The family, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported that the suspects tied them up and searched the house, stealing various items before fleeing the premises.

The tragedy has left the family terrified and vulnerable, with the grandmother and granddaughter still trying to cope with the ordeal.

Captain Eddie Hall of the Witbank Police Station  urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately, “We are doing everything in our power to arrest the suspects and ensure that justice is served.”

The tragedy serves as a sharp reminder of the need for home security and attention in averting similar attacks.

Residents are asked to take the necessary precautions to protect their property and to report any suspicious activity to the police.
