Robbers pose as workers to pull off audacious robbery

"I am concerned about how I will manage to operate for the rest of the month, given the significant loss of stock,” the shop owner said.

A shocking robbery occurred at a local energy supplier store, leaving the owner and employees devastated.

The incident took place on Monday, July 1, around 7:05 as the workers were preparing to open the store.

Two suspects, allegedly disguised in employees’ uniforms, entered the business and allegedly pulled out weapons.

According to police they bound the workers with handcuffs and ordered them to lie down in the kitchen. As the suspects continued to pick up the remaining staff, they put thousands of rands in client stock into their bakkie.

Mpho Mokwena, the owner of the shop, expressed his devastation at the loss, “I vow to use the experience as a lesson to improve security measures. However, I am concerned about how will I manage to operate for the rest of the month, given the significant loss of stock.”

The police are investigating the incident and urging anyone with information to come forward.

The community is rallying around the business owner, offering support and assistance during this difficult time.

This brazen robbery serves as a reminder for businesses to remain vigilant and review their security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
