The Women’s Agricultural Union Soirée branch welcomed two new members.

Art comes in all forms and when you plant a seed at the Women’s Agricultural Union about art, they will come up with the most amazing ideas.
On Saturday, July 13, Dirkina de Klerk visited the WAU Soirée branch and demonstrated a technique called encaustic wax, which is a historical painting technique where the wax is heated up and painted with.

Letitia Galloway.

Encaustic paint is a combination of beeswax, pigment, and a small amount of hardener.

The most well-known examples of the medium are Roman funerary portraits from 100 to 300 AD.

Robyn Schmidt and Magda Prinsloo.

The branch had so much fun with this technique and quickly mastered it.
The ladies enjoyed this workshop.
