44 foreign nationals arrested in eMalahleni CBD

A sweeping immigration raid in the Central Business District resulted in the arrest of 44 undocumented foreign nationals.

A crackdown on undocumented workers in the CBD over the weekend resulted in the arrest of 44 foreign nationals, who remain in custody pending deportation proceedings.

The arrested group consisted of 20 males and 24 females,

According to Witbank Police Station spokeswoman Captain Eddie Hall, the individuals were found working at local businesses without the necessary legal documents to be in the country

“It is the responsibility of business owners to ensure that their employees have the required documents before hiring them,” Hall said
