Businessman calls on Pakistani High Commission to help him get justice

The Pakistani Nationals demanded to know why the alleged mastermind behind the kidnapping was allowed to park at the back of the court in the parking area.

Pakistani Nationals voiced their anger during the court appearance earlier today of the men suspected of kidnapping local businessman Saqlain Ali.

They were angered when they saw that the alleged mastermind of the kidnapping was granted permission to park inside the court’s parking lot.

Court manager, Mr Thulani Mabena told the crowd to clear the road after they blocked the entrance to the parking lot.

He said the man was allowed to park at the back because of safety concerns.

“This is the court, and we understand you are angry, but you can not close the road. Come back tomorrow, bring a piece of paper and a pen and write down all your problems. If it falls under us, we will look at it. If it falls under the police, you must go to them,” Mabena said.

The men appearing in court today were arrested in Pietermaritzburg on November 19 following the kidnapping of Ali from his hardware shop in the CBD the day before.

Employees told WITBANK NEWS two men came into the store pretending to be customers.

“One of the men asked for the boss. Two more men came in and dragged the boss to a car outside, pushed him inside, and sped off,” the employees said.
