Family left devastated after house fire in eMalahleni

The fire raised concerns about the house's proximity to a nearby substation. Fortunately, the fire was contained, and no injuries were reported.

A devastating house fire has left a family in ruins, destroying their home and belongings in a matter of hours.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours, leaving the Theunissen family overwhelmed and heartbroken.

The family had recently moved back into the house, which held sentimental value, after a four-year absence.

They had plans to start anew, renovate the property, and rebuild their lives. However, their dreams were shattered when the house went up in flames.

They said, “we have lost everything in the fire, including food, clothing, and essential belongings.”

A Good Samaritan, driving a white bakkie, stopped to assist the family and called the fire department.

The family expressed gratitude for the stranger’s kindness during their time of need.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the police are investigating.
