Mayor asks that you pay your municipal account so that they can improve service delivery

The municipal office will close on Friday, December 27 and business will resume on Monday, December 30.

On behalf of the Emalahleni Local Municipality, I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy festive season that will give you satisfaction, happiness, love, and a prosperous New Year filled with success and good health.

Indeed, the year 2024 has been a very eventful, busy, and fulfilling year following my swearing-in as the executive mayor.

This time of the year is a wonderful opportunity to express gratitude for our achievements and to celebrate the spirit of hope that makes our town so special.

The holidays are a wonderful time for loved ones to come together and reflect on the past year, and it is a time to celebrate the coming year with hope and enthusiasm.

As the festive season is a period of celebration, let us remember that it is also the time of the year when the burden of poverty feels unfair and heavy on those who have less.

In the spirit of Christmas – it is time to celebrate with loved ones and share with the less fortunate, in the spirit of giving, let us share and give to the needy and make their festive merrier.

As we celebrate, let us please resist the abuse of alcohol and reduce incidents of crime, violence, and any act of inhumanity in our communities, especially against women, children, and the elderly.

For those traveling to visit families and friends, may you have a safe and enjoyable trip.

We also welcome visitors to our town who will be here to spend quality time with their loved ones.

We equally appeal to motorists and pedestrians to observe all the road safety tips, importantly do not drink and drive or walk.

Let’s heed all traffic laws and be considerate to pedestrians and other motorists.

Make sure your vehicle is roadworthy before you undertake any trip.

Let us all arrive alive!

Our municipal offices will stay open throughout the festive season and will only close on Friday, December 27, and business will resume on Monday, December 30.

Please note that essential services, cashiers at the main offices, and external pay points will not be affected by the above arrangements.

Kindly use water and electricity wisely and keep disasters, in particular, those related to water and fires, out of your holiday celebrations.

As we hope for a prosperous New Year, let us pay for the municipal services rendered to us to improve service delivery.
