Roads battered by rains – motorists urged to take caution

Drive with caution as rainwater is filling the potholes in and around eMalahleni.

Motorists are warned to be careful when driving as potholes are opening up everywhere in the city due to the ongoing rain.

One in particular is the pothole on the Kriel/Bethal Road under the bridge.

It is filled with rainwater, and its depth and size cannot be determined.

The road is notorious for fatal accidents and many names are written in blood on the road.

More recently, an accident on the way to Ga-Nala at Thubelihle  claimed the life of a man on Christmas Day

Percival Motloung from Percival Emergency Medical Services regularly responds to accidents on the road and he said, “The road is very narrow and the rain is worsening driving conditions.”

A warning for motorists travelling from Carolina to Chrissiesmeer. The bridge on the P177 has collapsed due to torrential rainfall – Arrive Alive.
