Motorists must also be mindful that embedded potholes may not be visible when it is raining hence they are advised to switch their lights on.

Motorists should observe applicable speed limits, adjust their driving in line with prevailing conditions on the road, ensure the roadworthiness of their vehicles, not overload, not drink while driving, and use the road with due consideration to other road users.

Motorists are further called to travel during daylight wherever possible and those travelling long distances should rest sufficiently along their journeys.
