Court corridor stabbing suspect remains behind bars as case is postponed

The case against Khanyisa Cekiso, the accused of stabbing his ex-wife Charity Khoza inside the court corridors, has been postponed till March.

The case against Khanyisa Cekiso, who allegedly stabbed his ex-wife, Charity Khoza, inside the Witbank Magistrate’s Court, has been postponed.

Cekiso, who remains in custody after being denied bail, appeared in court on Wednesday, January 22. The postponement allows for further investigation and preparation ahead of the trial.

The shocking incident occurred on November 5, following a Children’s Court session, where Cekiso allegedly concealed a cable knife blade in his buttocks before attacking Khoza.

Khoza suffered severe injuries, including stab wounds to her neck, arm, and upper body, but thankfully received urgent medical attention. Cekiso’s swift apprehension by security personnel and police prevented further harm.

The community remains outraged over the heinous crime, and many are calling for justice to be served.

Cekiso’s next court appearance is on March 3.
