TUT eMalahleni students unhappy about living conditions and matters that may influence their academics

TUT students are concerned about the living conditions at one of their residences.

Students from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) eMalahleni campus took to the streets today to protest against critical issues affecting their academic progress.

Led by the ActionSA and EFF student organizations, the protesters submitted a second memorandum to the university management, highlighting their urgent concerns regarding accommodation, electricity supply, and transport challenges.

The students emphasised that their well-being and academic success are at risk, and immediate intervention is necessary.

They are demanding additional accommodation, a reliable electricity supply at Corridor Hill residence, and improved transport services.

“The management’s failure to address our concerns has left us with no choice but to protest,” said a student leader. “We will not rest until our demands are met and our academic progress is secured.”

The protest is ongoing, with students waiting for the management to respond to their memorandum as soon as possible. The university’s spokesperson has yet to comment on the matter.
