Watch this space Cansa Shavathon coming up next weekend

Do not miss the chance to be one of the changemakers in our city by actively participating in this year’s Cansa Shavathon at The Ridge.

Don’t forget to join The Ridge as they will be having us for yet another exciting and impactful Cansa Shavathon on March 28 and 29.

In one way or the other, it is in the human nature to always seek for a chance to impact a life positively. Well, seek no more, as The Ridge invites everyone to join hands and participate in the upcoming Cansa Shavathon to raise funds for those affected by cancer.

Besides the indisputable fact that Shavathons drive awareness and solidarity among communities, they are also said to be enabling Cansa to provide communities with resources to support cancer survivors with treatment.

The Ridge believes that by participating in the initiative, you are not only contributing to Cansa financially, but by shaving or spraying your hair, you also provide emotional support for the survivors who are often forced to shave their hair during cancer therapy.

“You rise in support of your relative, neighbour, friend, or even teacher at your school who is struggling with not only a disease, but also with how visible having cancer can be to others,” The Ridge said.

Even if you opt to make a R50 donation or have funky hair for a day, at the end of the day it all becomes a warm gesture of support and a loud declaration that you are with them.

The Ridge encourages you to be one of those who make a difference, and take a step to change and save lives by donating, shaving or colour-spraying your hair.

“There is no need for attendees to bring anything, their smile and donation is enough,” they concluded.

The event will run from 10:00 till 17:00 at the food court opposite the movie cinemas. The Ridge also indicated that they will have some cupcakes for sale.

If you want to volunteer at the Shavathon, feel free to contact cancer activist Andries du Preez at 072 248 9424, for detailed information.
