Video of half-naked man running in the middle of the street reunites him with his family

A responder from SACCW escorted him until the police arrived and took him to the hospital, where his family found him.

The family of the man, who was spotted running half-naked in the middle of the road in eMalahleni was relieved to find him after days of searching with no luck.

The man was seen running on the OR Tambo Road and Old Middelburg Road earlier this week, but thanks to Christelle Oberholzer, a responder from the South African Community Crime Watch (SACCW) who maintained the situation and kept the man safe, it all ended well.

Oberholzer said, “Just after 11:00, as I was travelling towards Klipfontein, along the way, I realised that someone was in the middle of the road.”

She said that was when she called for help in her department. A responder quickly came, and they escorted the man, putting him between their two cars as they moved towards the oncoming traffic. Oberholzer said they were soon joined by a tow truck that also assisted them in keeping the man safe.

Despite several attempts to talk to him, the man still wouldn’t talk to him. They escorted him until the police arrived and took him to the hospital, where his family found him.

A family member said, “I just want to sincerely thank you for posting that video of my brother. It helped us to know where he was, and it truly means a lot to me and my family. We appreciate your kindness and the effort you took to share it.”
