More alleged foreigners arrested over the weekend

Seven arrested for breach of immigration laws during Operation Vala uMgodi.

The police arrested seven suspects during Operation Vala Umgodi for contravention of the Immigration Act.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 42, were allegedly found in a Sprinter that was carrying passengers on May 18, when the team conducted a stop-and-search on the old Pretoria road.

When they failed to produce valid documentation permitting them to be in South Africa, the police apprehended and charged them for breaching the immigration laws.

The immigrants are expected to appear at the Witbank Magistrate’s Court today.
