The forum founded by Khethiwe Mashiyane and Nhlamulo Malungane under the leadership of Brigadier Lindelani Ndlovu brought the various departments together to share courts and fields.

The event held at Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog on June 18, was a success, with Emalahleni Local Municipality finalising as big winners.

The municipality’s teams dominated the netball and volleyball competitions, taking home the top prizes.

The event, which brought together various sectors within eMalahleni, featured a range of activities, including soccer, netball, volleyball, aerobics, and a braai.

Teams from the SAPS (Local Criminal Record Centre and Family, Child Protection & Sexual Offense Unit), Emalahleni Local Municipality, Emalahleni FM, Department of Traffic, and Department of Correctional Services participated in the friendly competitions.

Vosman SAPS took the first place in soccer and secured the second in netball.

According to Khethiwe, the event aimed to strengthen working relationships among the participating units and departments to better serve the eMalahleni community.

The winners were awarded for their efforts, with Emalahleni Municipality’s netball and volleyball teams taking the top spots and followed by the SAPS.

“The event was a great success. We hope that the departments will continue to engage in such and grow their working relationship to aid the community competently,” Khethiwe added.

The event was well-attended, with Brigadier Ndlovu in attendance.

The host of the event highlighted the importance of collaboration and teamwork among different sectors in the community. They also congratulated Emalahleni Local Municipality and Vosman SAPS on their wins.
