Grant day made special for eMalahleni’s senior citizens

Municipal leaders stepped up to make social grant day extra meaningful by providing support and kindness to elderly residents.

As Mandela Month begins, Emalahleni Local Municipality has set a strong example of compassion and community care.

Municipal leaders, councillors, political leaders, and local businesses joined hands at KG Mall and Pick n Pay Complex in KwaGuqa Extension 9 to support elderly residents collecting their social grants.

Executive Mayor Clr Vusi Nhlapho and Speaker of Council Clr Nombuso Shabangu led the initiative on July 2.

“This is a reminder that the role of leadership goes beyond administration. It includes being present, listening, and responding to the everyday needs of our people,” said Nhlapho.
