CPF stakeholders meet to discuss progress in Phola

The meeting was informative and provided proper guidance on how the CPF should operate.

The Phola SAPS station commander, Lt Col Frederick Viviers, brought together various stakeholders at Makause Combined School for the provincial and district Community Policing Forum (CPF) board meeting.

Led by Mbongeni Lushaba, chairperson of the Provincial CPF board, the meeting took place on July 9, intending to improve collaboration between the police and the CPF.

According to Sergeant Thabang Ntuli, the gathering also emphasised the effectiveness and practicality of the CPF frameworks at police stations.

“The main goal of community policing is to foster trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the communities they serve, aiming to proactively tackle crime and enhance public safety,” Ntuli explained.

The event featured stakeholders from the Provincial CPF Board, District CPF Board, station commanders, chairpersons, and secretaries from 23 police stations, including a representative from the Department of Safety, Security, and Liaison.

“The meeting was a resounding success and a very informative one. It also provided proper guidance on how the CPF should operate,” Ntuli concluded.
