#Day 5 – ‘Pooh’gress as water supply maintenance continues

Don’t pick up any shopping bag next to the road, there might be pooh in it.

A new health threat stepped onto eMalahleni’s doorstep.

As the water supply maintenance continues, residents are now doing their number twos in plastic bags and throwing it into garbage bags.

“This practice poses serious health and hygiene risks, particularly to our waste collection teams who handle these bins manually and are exposed to harmful bacteria and unsafe conditions. We strongly urge all residents to refrain from this practice and to make alternative, safe sanitation arrangements where possible,” was the concern raised by the municipal media desk.

The media desk also deserves a round of applause for keeping residents in the loop about the progress on the water supply maintenance.

Yesterday’s feedback was very positive.

All reservoirs have now been fully cleaned.

Pumping is expected to start this morning, with the low-lying area first to receive water.
